Today was a very long day of travel from Daraja (near Nanyuki) to Naivasha. The morning was filled with many tears from everyone- i don’t think there were any dry eyes left by the time we left. We were reunited with Jan then we hit the road. We drove for a few hours then stopped for a bathroom break and snacks, then a couple hours later we stopped at a little gas station with shops and cafes where we did all of our fruit and veggie shopping for the next while. While we were waiting to pay and were hanging out we met a Kenyan soccer team who were on their way to a tournament in Nairobi! They invited us all to hang out and watch their game but instead we had to keep driving so we just wished them good luck. Shortly after we arrived in Naivasha where it was absolutely pouring rain so we had to run for our lives into the mall. We did our massive grocery haul and grabbed some supper then hit the road for our final stretch of the day! Right before we got to the campground Jan stopped the truck and we looked out the window and saw zebra, antelope, warthogs, some monkeys, and a giraffe all in the field right beside us!! It was so amazing!!!! We made it to our amazing campground right on the shores of Lake Naivasha and set up our tents then as part of cook crew, me Kendall, and Jose prepared some chicken and vegetable stir fry with rice for supper! After evening meeting we decided to head to bed after such a long day.
