Sunday means church! At Daraja it’s mandatory for everyone to attend one of the church services even if they do not practice any religion. There was a Muslim service, as well as Catholic and Protestant services. One of my shadows, Maggie, was catholic so she asked me to go to her service. The service was about an hour long with about 45 minutes of singing and dancing. These girls had such powerful voices it was incredible to listen to them sing. After church we all gathered for lunch then prepared for bean and pea sorting! If you’ve ever sorted beans or peas you will understand how tedious and frustrating it can be, but with around 70 of us helping, we managed to sort most of it in around an hour! After bean sorting, we mzungus all gathered and organized a sort of scavenger hunt around campus for everyone. Once that was over we played a massive game of Birdie on a Pirch which was SOOO much fun and the girls loved it!! We went for supper which was followed with lots of laughs. After an amazing day we were all exhausted so we had an early night to prepare for Monday!
